When did Faith Christian Center begin?

Faith Christian Center began on August 13, 2006 at our current location.  Originally, we were sharing space from Norview Presbyterian Church (NPC).  As we continued to look for another building in the area, in December of 2007 we approached NPC about the possibility of buying the building.  Faith Christian Center purchased the building located at 1066 Norview on May 20, 2008. 

 

What type of church is Faith Christian Center?

Faith Christian Center is a friendly, loved-filled, non-denominational church with a heart to impact the Hampton Roads with the love of God. Our vision to teach the Word of God in a way that is easy to understand and to apply to everyday life. We also have lots of fun and laughter in our services and events. We would love to have you as a guest at one our worship experiences.  We believe that God has created His people for success, not defeat. As such, our goal is to equip God's people to experience VICTORY in every area of LIFE!

How do you become a member of Faith Christian Center?

At Faith Christian Center we believe church membership is a covenant commitment that should be undertaken with proper information. For that reason, we have a series of classes designed to give the prospective member a better understanding of what we believe, our church governmental structure, what to expect from their church, and what their church expects from them. Please call the church or see a Hospitality Team Member before or after service for more information on the New Member process.

How do I get to the church?

Faith Christian Center is located in the Five Points area of Norfolk, VA.  We are minutes away from Norfolk International Airport. The physical address of the church is 1066 Norview Ave, near the intersection of Sewell’s Point/Chesapeake Blvd. When traveling from Virginia Beach/Chesapeake/Suffolk on I-64 use exit 279A (Norview Ave West), if you are traveling, from the Peninsula (Hampton/Newport News/Yorktown/ Williamsburg), exit at Tidewater Drive South, continue to Norview Ave.  From Portsmouth/Downtown Norfolk, we can be accessed via I-264 (Tidewater Exit) taking Tidewater Dr. North to Norview Ave.

What is appropriate to wear to church?

At FCC, we're more interested in what is IN you than what you have ON you. So, our dress code is, "Come as you are!" Typical dress ranges from casual to professional.

 

Do you have ministry for children and teenagers?

Our commitment at Faith Christian Center is to minister to the needs of the entire family. Therefore, ministering to children and teenagers is a very high priority. Our children's ministry for ages birth through 5th grade is called KidScope. Our youth ministry, called Glorify God  ministers to youth from (6th - 12th grade). To better serve our children and youth, we minister the Word of God to them in a way that is easily understood for their respective age level, and we provide an array of exciting events to keep them reminded that serving God is the best experience in life.

What other special ministries are offered at FCC?

We have services to meet the specific needs of single adults, married couples, college students, military ministry, and others as we continue to grow.

At this time, we have disoncontinued our radio broadcast. Television ministry is in our future...stay tuned.
